Living wall at the Groene Passage

The people- and environmentally-friendly Groene Passage shopping centre in the heart of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, has instructed Mobilane from Leersum to install a living wall of nearly 10 square metres near the main entrance. They have opted for the Mobilane LivePanel system. The instant living wall was completed at the end of August.

This shopping centre, unique for the Netherlands and measuring about 3,000 square metres, is home to an organic food supermarket with a chemist, a natural home & décor shop, an organic butcher and an organic restaurant. Groene Passage attracts environmentally-conscious consumers from Rotterdam and the surrounding area.

Chairman of the Groene Passage shopkeepers’ association, Marc van Remundt: “After we studied the systems available on the market, we opted for Mobilane’s LivePanel Indoor wall. We were particularly attracted by its low water consumption, long lifespan and the unique technology used to automatically feed and water the plants. Apart from that, the natural look and noise-absorbing and air-conditioning properties of the living wall are also very important for Groene Passage.”
